ANNOUNCING THE ARLHS
(USA/CANADA) QSL BURO

As of February 23, 2005, the ARLHS has created its own QSL bureau to assist members in reducing the higher and higher cost of QSL-ing. The ARLHS QSL Buro allows you to make one mailing to one central location for all of your USA/Canada contacts.

This will be an easier way to get those QSL's needed for confirmation for the many certificates that the club is offering. If you are interested in the QSL bureau as an easy way to control your postage costs, read the "How To" portion of this announcement below.

HOW TO

RULES FOR THE ARLHS BURO

[1.] Send only #10 business-sized envelopes (4.25 X 9.5 inches or 10.4 X 24.1 cm) with postage in the proper amount affixed to the upper-right corner (see [2.] below for amounts). Canadian members can send cash, and we will purchase the postage for you (see [5.] below). Address the envelope to yourself. Put your ARLHS Member Number in the upper-left-hand corner.

[2.] If you have or are planning on activating a lighthouse or more, you might want to send a 6 X 9 inch or 15.2 X 22.9 cm brown SASE envelope with a multiple of postage applied to it. To help you guess at postage rates, 10 QSL's equals about 1 ounce. The first ounce of postage is 37 cents and 23 cents per ounce for each additional amount of weight. (All currency is in USA dollars and cents.)

[3.] All cards collected during the month will be mailed on the last day of the month, regardless of the count in your envelope. If your envelope fills up faster than that, it will be mailed sooner!

[4.] When sending your QSL's please, please try to put the addressee's ARLHS member number on the card: it will help us sort them faster.

[5.] Canadian dollars will be accepted, and we will purchase USA postage for you if you can't get it where you are located. For our Canadian members, send your money and addressed envelopes to the address in [7.] below.

[6.] Note: This QSL service is for members of the ARLHS only. If you are not yet a member, see the Application Page.

[7.] Send your QSL's and envelopes to:
Chuck Dobbins
KA5PVB #430
616 North Cherry St.
Alpine, Texas 79830-3308
USA

As the new QSL manager of the ARLHS QSL Buro, I look forward to working for you to get your QSL's exchanged at a satisfactory rate! Keep the Flame!
