Proposal for an Addition to
The Amateur Radio Lighthouse SocietyWorld List of Lights (WLOL)
Anyone can submit a light for inclusion on the world-famous ARLHS World List of Lights. As long as it meets the ARLHS criteria and is approved by the WLOL Committee, it will be assigned a number and will be added to the list. The Proposer is encouraged to review the ARLHS criteria for a light's inclusion. Basically, the light (1) should be or have been recognized by some goverment agency as a true navigation beacon, as evidenced by its inclusion in an official government publication, government list of lights, or nautical chart.; and (2) should be large enough to physically support an operator and all equipment necessary to sustain a complete ham station for a period of at least an hour.
This form is to be used by anyone requesting the assignment of an ARLHS number to a light beacon (lighthouse, lightship, etc.) and for its inclusion on the World List of Lights. Please provide as much information as possible, including photographs where possible, and submit via e-mail to lighthouse@arlhs.net or via regular mail to: ARLHS, WLOL Committee, 114 Woodbine Ave, Merchantville, NJ 08109-1854 USA. Note that it is the responsibility of the Proposer to provide suffcient information and proof to the WLOL Committee to warrant and justify the inclusion of the light. After the Committee has researched the data and discussed the pros and cons, a vote will be taken to accept or deny, and the results of the decision will be posted to the BeaconBot and published on the ARLHS WLOL.
