Windmill — Lighthouse — Castle Contest
|
The UBA region OSA-Antwerp invites all radio amateurs to participate in the
First WLC (Windmill-Lighthouse-Castle) Contest, a triathlon contest.
PURPOSE OF THIS CONTEST:
To promote windmills, castles, and lighthouses in Belgium and to activate most of these monuments in one day.
There is no distinction made between wind, water, or rosmills (horse-powered mills); between lightships, lightbeacons, or lighthouses; or between castles and fortresses. As long as they have a reference number, they qualify for the contest and the points and multipliers are valid.
TIME & DATE:
31 May 2008 from 0600 till 1600 UTC
FREQUENCY:
Proposed frequencies are 3600 to 3650 and 3700 to 3775 on the 80 meter band.
From 7040 to 7100 on the 40 meter band
From 14160 to 14230 and from 14240 to 14300 on the 20 meter band.

REPORT:
RST + QSO number from 001 + reference number(e.g., 59001 wim2015)
There will be a list of all reference numbers that participate in the contest on the following web site:

CATEGORIES:
A: Belgium stations that activate a mill, castle or lighthouse
B: Belgian stations without activation
C: Foreign stations
D: SWL's (ONL and foreign SWL's in the same ranking)
E: QRP stations
POINTS:
QSO with a Belgium station with a reference number = 5 points
QSO with a Belgium station = 2 points
QSO with a foreign station = 1 point
Any reference-station may be worked on different frequencies.
MULTIPLIERS:
All Belgian reference numbers of windmills, castles, and lighthouses count only 1 time independently of the used frequency.
LOGS:
At the top of the log write your call, category, and reference number. Logsheets with 40 QSO's per sheet indicating the following information:
TX stations: UTC, CALL HEARD, GIVEN REPORT, RECEIVED REPORT (RST + QSO number + ref. number) MULTIPLIER and POINTS.
SWL station: UTC, HEARD STATION + RST, COUNTER STATION + RST (RST + QSO number + ref. number), MULTIPLIER and POINTS.
SWL's may log maximum 10 QSO's with the same station per band and one of the stations has to be a Belgium ON .
For all stations: Write down your name and call on top of the log .
Include a statement to the log that you have worked under the contest rules.
All logs must be sent within 30 days after the contest to:

REMARKS:
(1) Everyone who participates in this contest must hold a valid license to work these bands.
(2) No distinction is made between single or multi-operator stations because of the shortness of the contest.
(3) Anyone who sends his log through e-mail will receive a certificate in return.
(4) The results will be published on the website of OSA, UBA, and CQ QSO.

There will be a special award made for this activation to all stations who make contact with 50 reference
stations but there must be a minimum of 10 in each of the three categories; i.e., 10 mills, 10 castles,
and 10 lighthouse, plus any other 20 reference stations.
